EICHER MOTORS LTD (BSE 505200, NSE: EICHERMOT) is a manufacturer of motorcycles and commercial vehicles. It is the parent company of Royal Enfield and commercial vehicles. It is the parent company of Royal Enfield a manufacturer of middle weight motorcycles - the world's oldest motorcycle brand in continuous production. It was founded in 1948.
In addition of motorcycles Eicher has a joint venture with Sweeden's AB Volvo - Volvo Eicher commercial vehicles ltd (VECV). VECV has a range of trucks and buses from 5-49 tonnes.

According to Economic Times Report on June 06, 2018 - India's market for premium motorcycles - those priced above Rs.1 lakh - crossed the 1-million-unit sales milestone in fiscal 2018, growing at a much quicker pace than the overall bike segment. India is the world's biggest two-wheeler market and premium bikes make up for just 5% of the overall sales.
Royal Enfield is fast becoming a very important player in the global mid-size motorcycle market and is working towards re-inventing this space with motorcycles that are evocative and engaging and great fun to ride. Royal Enfield’s product line‐up includes the Bullet, Classic and Thunderbird models in both 350 and 500cc displacements; and the recently introduced Continental GT 535cc café racer. Royal Enfield operates through 12 company-operated stores and 380 dealers in all major cities and towns in India, and exports to over 50 countries across the world including the USA, Japan, UK, several European and Latin American countries, as well as the Middle East and South Asia.
Royal Enfield's unique positioning as a mass premium brand will be tough for rivals to replicate in India and globally and hold it in good stead.
Operational since July 2008, VE Commercial Vehicles Ltd. (VECV) comprises of five business verticals – Eicher Trucks and Buses, Volvo Trucks India, Eicher Engineering Components and VE Powertrain. VECV includes the complete range of Eicher's commercial vehicles, components and engineering design businesses as well as the sales and distribution of Volvo trucks
