The rise of Robotics
The speed of internet has increased significantly over the years. Along with other technological advances it is now possible to run large scale factories by robots.
Robot's cost of operation is less and it is more productive. Thus robots are more efficient than humans . This helps companies reduce their cost of production and produce better quality of goods.
Robots making telephone calls.
According to Wikipedia - A robocall is a phone call that uses a computerized autodialer to deliver a pre-recorded message, as if from a robot. Robocalls are often associated with political and telemarketing phone campaigns, but can also be used for public-service or emergency announcements.
The use of robocalls have also increased exponentially.
They can be restarted as and when the need arises.
There is no requirement of continuing to pay salaries or offer lay off remuneration etc etc.
The current Wuhan Corona Virus crisis explains this best. At the time of lockdown the robocalls went off the air and again restarted as the virus impact decreased and the unlock began.
Impact on job markets
As robot revolution begins and they replace humans there is data available to suggest the potential job losses.
Historically whenever there have been technological advances (typewriter to a personal computer) traditional job losses have been there but productivity increases has been better off for the society. This is because newer and better paying - alternative jobs - got created.
The entire "technology sector" today is based on the "invention" of computer and "internet".
Adoption of newer technologies
The rate at which we are adopting to new technologies is increasing by the day. Older technologies and gadgets are becoming obsolete at a faster pace.
It is therefore becoming imperative to adopt to newer technological changes as quickly as possible.
One of the most important facets of today's world is the use of mobile phones. It has made our lives easier and more productive. And yet it is also an addiction if not managed properly.
The cost of using a mobile phone in India is one of the lowest in the world. It is no wonder then Indians are one of the highest users of mobile phones in the world.
